Mixed Media Collage
I am inspired by texture, the interplay of deep, rich colors and symbolism.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from San Jose State University
with an emphasis in fibers and textiles. I begin with a layer of acrylic
and then add layers to create texture and depth onto a canvas base.
I think of this process as weaving the colors and textures together.
I add found and nostalgic objects. I consider this layering in age,
history and humanism to a modern design. I create art to
learn about myself. I pull from my dreams
and hopes the stories that are inside of me.
