Gallery: Symphonic Poem Series

Joyful Passage

One in her Symphonic Poem series which represents a progression of the artist’s color usage into a period she refers to as “lightening-up”. It was created using vintage fabric, handmade paper and stamps, hymnal pages, vintage letters and acrylic.

Elusive Tempo

The second in the series which continues the rhythm of the subtle palette coupled with a highlight of primary color. It was created using handwritten letters, vintage fabric, dress patterns for both their color and graphics, acrylic and charcoal.

 

Arpeggio

The third in the series which highlights the complexity of the artist’s design process.  Here acrylic medium is used to blend textures. It contains both artistic elements like the artist’s handmade paper, vintage sheet music and “found objects”.

Subtle Rhythm

The fourth piece carries the melodic theme to a low horizon continuing the evolvement of the series.  It is centered by a floating fragment of sheet music surrounded by other fragments within other layers containing handwritten letters and patterns.

Legato

As in music the final work of the series serves to tie the pieces together by continuing the low horizon with a bass line of red. Its multi-dimensional appearance was created using layers of fabric, handmade paper, custom stencils and acrylic medium.
